Source 3D Models
ShaderMap now allows for 3D Models to be used as inputs for Map Plugins. ShaderMap Maps use 3D Models as inputs to generate and bake maps. ShaderMap
does not export any kind of geometry. 3D Models are also used in the Material Visualizer but the type of 3D Model discussed in this section is the
Source 3D Model used as an input for Map Plugins.
3D Model Node Properties
3D Models have three properties in the Node Properties section:
- Load Cage Model - This control allows the user to load a matching (usually low polygon) mesh.
Once loaded the mesh can be wrapped around the Source Model in the 3D Model Setup creating a cage for Projection Baking methods found in Maps that use
3D Models as input.
- Model UV Channel - Set the UV Channel to be set to the model geometry. Up to 8 channels are supported.
- Cage Model UV Channel - Set the UV Channel to be set to the cage model geometry. Up to 8 channels are supported.
